Tambo Valley break 40 year pennant drought

| Tambo Valley Golf Club has created EGDGA history being the first 9 hole golf club to win Division 1 pennant when they defeated Maffra (1) 3/2. A close contest was played at the South Pines Golf Course that was presented in superb condition and is a credit to it's many volunteers. Success in pennant has been a long time coming for Tambo Valley with its last win in 1980 when it won both the B & C grade divisions. The assault on this years pennant was hatched over a late night campfire at the picturesque course some months ago in an effort to instill more interest in the competition. The club look forward to defending the title in 2018.

In other results Yarram defeated Sale 3/2 in Division 2 and will be promoted to Division 1 next year.

South Pines had a convincing 4/1 win over Lakes Entrance GC in Division 3 East and Sale defeated Heyfield 3/2 in Division 3 West.
