Often referred to as ‘Little Augusta’, Tambo Valley Golf Club is set among towering pine trees. A 9 hole course comprising 3 pars 3’s, 3 par 4’s and 3 par 5’s emphasis is placed in accuracy rather than length. There are alternate tees for the back nine giving each hole a different perspective.
Run entirely on the labour of volunteers this course is a hidden gem. Abundant wildlife and its remote location is reason enough to visit this wonderful course in Victoria’s high country.
Two tournaments are held each year, in March and October, and are held over 5 days. These tournaments are extremely popular with most fields filling very quickly. The popularity of the events is enhanced by the opportunity to camp onsite of the club.
Club competitions are held on Sunday 11am (Medley).
Visitors are most welcome to play.
About the club
The Tambo Valley Golf Club is a volunteer run, non-profit Club located between Omeo and Swifts Creek just off the Great Alpine Road. The course is nestled under Mt Bindi between Splitters Range and Nunniong Plateau and features pine trees surrounded by native bushland covered hills which rise steeply from the clear mountain waters of Junction Creek.
The course layout has been designed to fit the surrounding landscape and takes on a living quality as the seasons and weather aberrations create continual change in the course’s presentation.
The area is home to a variety of wildlife, including kangaroos, fallow deer, emus, wombats, water dragons, and a multitude of bird life.
Memberships are due on 31 January.
Full membership: $275
Junior U/18: $30
Green fees are $20 for all day play (Juniors $2)
Camping is allowed on course but payment must be made prior to setting up. Cost is $25 per person, per day (Includes golf) and $10 per person, per day for a non golfing partner.
PLEASE: NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY.
